George and the Beaver lodge

George invites Dick to become a member of his lodge, The Beavers.

Dick is rejected by the lodge and that is only one of the hilarious things going on in this episode. A guest (Richard Sanders from WKRP in Cincinnati) shows up with an imaginary wife and Kirk has a fight with Cindy over a parking space. The character of Harley is also introduced, he is a hapless guy who can't seem to find a job. Don't miss this one, one of the funniest of the series.

Whenever the townspeople are front and center, Bob Newhart, a wonderful straight man, plays off them so well. It is like he is on another planet, the only voice of reason. Everyone else has some but to do and this really works well. We have a man with an invisible wife. A lodge called the Beavers who refuse to let Dick Loudon in, and several other things, including the initiation into the lodge.
