(245-word review) Based on the beginning of the episode, I wondered how it would unfold as the plot seemed pretty straightforward; of course, there wouldn't be an episode if there weren't more to it, but the surface-level simplicity makes your mind go all over the place at every turn. In that sense, this episode was different in a way that no other one up to this point has been; more importantly, it/the unraveling of it all was well-written: props to the writers (John C. Kelley and Jesse Stern).

The plot was even somewhat elaborate, at least more than you'll expect; however, the perpetrator was a little predictable once introduced, a top-of-your-mind type deal where you're suspicious of that character, which became more likely towards the reveal. But that's not an issue for me, just an observation, and the actual reveal had a twist I wasn't expecting, so that was cool. And the eye thing with the throat thing as the cherry on top was undoubtedly the most extreme depiction of gore in this show. Surprising, given the type of show this is.

While it wasn't super exciting (and I don't think I consider it up there with the best episodes of the show so far, although it's one of the better ones, for sure), elements of the plot generated some excitement, which was good. Something about the episode itself was already enjoyable, though; a testament to good writing across the board, not only regarding the plot.
