Maggie is reaching that stage in her life where she becomes an activist against all the issues in the world, including environmentalism and animal rights. She butts heads with Maxwell when he won't let her go to an all night poetry campaign supporting the environment. Really, the all-nighter is a date with a boy she likes. Meanwhile, Fran's Aunt Mima Fageh passes away at age 104, and she wills her famous and much desired mink coat to Fran. But Fran doesn't want it since she too believes in animal rights and she wants to show Maggie that she can stick to her convictions. This stance goes against everything that Sylvia believes in, which places a strain between the two. Sylvia slowly but methodically gets to a point where Fran is almost ready to accept the coat. But ultimately, C.C. unwittingly solves the problem between the Fine women.
