Nick's in love.
Sleepin_Dragon1 January 2024
Nick brings his new girlfriend home to meet the parents, but they are both shocked when Amanda turns out to be Scottish, and a more mature woman. Nick announces that he's found to propose to her.

Very, very funny, I had forgotten just how many classic episodes came from this second series. It's a very original, very amusingly episode, with Nick delighting in tormenting his poor parents.

Of course, the best bit, the piece de resistence, is the moment where Susan gets to confront Amanda.

Jan Francis is perfect for the part, so well known as Penny in Just Good Friends, such a different character to Penny, but still charming.

Loved Nick's reaction, he really was the most innocent, naive and content young man.

8/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Jan Francis, forever loved for her role as Penny in John Sullivan's 'Just Good Friends', pops up here as Nick's girlfriend, pitting her against Robert Lindsay who himself was the lead in a Sullivan show ('Citizen Smith').

After a couple of so-so episodes this is the show back on good form, with some lovely moments. I like this early version of Janey and the fact that Ben isn't quite so downright miserable as he would become later.

A lot of fun overall.
