The elderly Mrs Pasquith is the first victim to encounter The Flaxborough Crab, a mature sexy attacker, who's preying on women, and behaving in a very curious manner, walking sidewards and making buzzing noises.
Detective Inspector Purbright is back on the case, it's another strange, bizarre, but wonderfully entertaining episode. It is such a mix of serious and humorous, there are some dramatic crimes, but you can't help but chuckle away, it's so curious.
The story is so curious, but once again it's the richness of the characters that make this so enjoying. The needle between the well meaning Bertha and grumpy, coarse old Mrs Crunkinghorn were hilarious.
What a mix of acting styles, the regulars are all robust and straight down the line, Daphne Heard, Barbara Hicks and Sheila Fay are all an absolute joy.
Stanley Lebor on the other hand, I'm a big fan, but his Doctor Heinemann was just too over the top, he's almost playing it for laughs, it doesn't fit somehow.
Why is Doctor Meadows behaving so oddly, and what exactly is Samson's Salad?
It's a curious story.
7/10.
