The first episode in which Richard Hunt performs Janice. He would become her regular performer until his death in 1992.
Fozzie has a new appearance in this episode; his fur is a lighter shade of orange and his mouth is not as wide.
Starting with the second season, each show starts with a cold open in which Scooter knocks on the guest stars dressing room door.
The "Windmills of Your Mind" sketch and "Fozzie's Shades" were included in "The Muppet Show Book", published by Harry N. Abrams, Inc in 1978, in which the sequences were entirely illustrated by Tudor Banus. However, in this version Fozzie Bear gets Sam the Eagle, not Don Knotts, to perform in the "Lullaby of Birdland" number.
After Rowlf's performance of "What a Wonderful World", two other Muppets are seen leaving the stage. These are the Muppets from the sketch "Something's Missing" which will instead air (as the UK spot) in Rudolf Nureyev (1978).
