"Mork and Mindy Meet Rick and Ruby" features the San Francisco comedy troupe Rick and Ruby, played by Brian Seff and Monica Ganas, accompanied by their pianist Joshua Brody as Raoul, formed as a satirical 50s rock'n'roll revue with comedy sketches, working as support for both Florence Henderson and Robin Williams. Rick and Ruby's group The Stupids have just been fired by Remo (Jay Thomas) because Ruby is pregnant, so an outraged Mindy decides to lead a strike against the DaVinci restaurant until he overcomes his sexist attitude. With Mindy forced to pay their $500 weekly salary, opening night abruptly ends when Ruby goes into labor. The Stupids try to make a go of it without Ruby, but the audience only responds when Mork joins the act. At the end, he's relieved that performing only made him feel faint, as he thought he might be pregnant!
