The Face starts as two redneck brothers, Raymond and Cliff, attempt to rob an old woman. When she cries out for help, Raymond covers her mouth and she bites him. Raymond kills her. The wound turns into the face of the old woman later that night, and it begins to talk to him and torment him for his crime. Raymond can't bring himself to cut out the face himself and asks for Cliff's help, with disastrous results.
Allen Coulter returns for his second and final directorial episode of this series, and while I trashed his first one "All in a Day's Work", this one thankfully comes threw with a solid story and performances. My favorite thing about this one has to be the performance from Gregory Grove as Raymond, he looks a lot like Gil Bellows, and really plays the part of nasty crooked robber really well, I was rather shocked however that he hardly had a career at all with only four acting credits. Imogene Coca however is the special guest star here, but, if you came to she her you'll probably be disappointed as she's only really in the episode in normal form for about two minutes, just her voice is heard throw out. As for the special effects there probably among the shows finest, going in on them to much would spoil things, but, the effects of the face along with that of the twist ending are wonder and defiantly fun. As for locations the show makes the best out of the usual two, we have Clifford's rundown shack of a house and the bedroom of the old woman. Overall, a good way to start out season 2 with some good performances, story, and effects, the three things that make a good episode to me that you don't really get a lot all together with most of these episodes.
