In this episode, Binghamton has plans to turn McHale's island into an Officers Club which will have Binghamton over across the bay most of the time spying on McHale's crew. McHale and his men are going to have to find a way to keep Binghamton from building the club.
McHale's crew tries to sabotage the building materials but things backfire and Binghamton now will just take over McHale's living quarters sending McHale's crew back to the main base. But with McHale's crew on the base, Binghamton cannot enjoy the Officer's Club because he is always thinking McHale is up to something on the base. And Binghamton's fears are going to be confirmed
Even though there are some nice scenes in this episode the show was so tight in time that most of the good scenes were way too short. Like when Binghamton and Carpenter return from the Officer's Club only to find McHale's crew up to some mischief-- this was a funny scene but was cut short in order to get more dialog and humming of patriotic songs by the crew. Nothing wrong with the story, it was the script that was the problem.
