Amazingly Christina Applegate Bouncing Up & Down Is Not The Best Thing In This Episode
Another 10/10 episode of "Married With Children" in season five.
Plot In A Paragraph: Al cannot afford to buy an air conditioner for the hot summer. After an attempt to install an old experimental model, (which results in a neighbourhood blackout) Al moves his family into the local supermarket.
Ed O'Neil is one again the star of the show as Al Bundy. Whilst all the cast are great, it's O'Neil who holds it all together. Katey Sagal is fun as Peggy. The gorgeous Christina Applegate has never looked better, and she looks superb bouncing about in her pink bikini. David Faustino is at his brilliant best as pervy Bud. No Ted McGinley as Jefferson, Amanda Bearse has two scenes as Marcy
Season 5 of Married With Children is the show at the height of it's greatness.

The Van Der Bundys!
The Bundys don't have an air conditioner so they make do with a kiddie pool and Al in it while the Bundys are as hot during the hottest day in Chicago history. They settle on a getting an air conditioner but Al gets a German air conditioner from World War II and has eaten already from the Crazy Guy store. When their air conditioner goes out, so does everybode else in the neighborhood and they know where to put the blame on the Bundys. The Bundys escape to their summer home at the nearby grocery store, Foodies, where they hide from angry neighbors and suspicious store employees. When Marcy catches the Van Der Bundys at their summer home, Al costs her place in line where the Bundys are the millionth customer.

Best Episode !!!
In my humble opinion this 2 part episode is hands down the best of all the episodes that I've watched. Many years went by and I wound up watching this episode again and I laughed HARDER than the first time and HARDER than with any other episodes or shows including Seinfeld !!!......i was laughing so hard that i slid off my bed and onto the floor with tears and my stomach muscles were so sore.....it was like I was seeing it for the first time ever.....the shopping cart scene is what did it to me !!!

Hopefully there will be more fun in store in part two.
In part one of You Better Shop Around, the Bundys are suffering from the summer heat, their house not equipped with air conditioning. Al relents and buys an AC unit -- a WWII relic that once belonged to Rommel -- but the ancient piece of machinery causes a blackout in the neighbourhood.
Al's back-up plan is to move the family into the freezer department of the local supermarket. Eventually they are given their marching orders by the manager, who demands they buy something first; pushing in front of Marcy, Al is surprised to learn that he is the store's one millionth customer and has won a $1000 spending spree.
I'm never a big fan of the first half of the show's two-part episodes, most of the effort spent on setting up the story rather than on delivering decent gags. This one is no exception -- the big laughs are thin on the ground -- but it does compensate by kicking things off with Kelly in a a bikini top and shorts (Christina Applegate does some very nice bouncing!) and Peggy in a black one-piece, and then introducing a hot blonde customer in the supermarket who Al and Bud shamelessly ogle.
The eye-candy gets this one a pass.
