In the scene where Danny tries to console Rusty after having demoted him to the little league minors, Danny asks Rusty if he remembers the Broadway show that Danny took him to the previous week. This show is evidently "Damn Yankees" but it is not explicitly so-called in this episode. Rusty remembers and refers to it as "The Darn Yankees". This has to be a deliberate mechanism to avoid having to say the profane (in 1955) title of the show. The majority purpose of this episode seems to be to give reason for Danny (and later his entire family) to sing the extremely popular song from the show, "(You've Gotta Have) Heart", yet they couldn't actually say the show's title.
