- When a bus rolls into the 4077 compound, there are several wounded soldiers and a surprise: Sidney (Allan Arbus). He was in a foxhole doing therapy with patient (it was a follow up to an earlier session), Tom (Michael O'Keefe), who suffered from hysterical paralysis when they were hit by Chinese artillery. Sidney has a headache but he is 100% compared to the 4077 crew. The 4077th get a batch of Chinese wounded as well. Potter orders that their uniforms be taken off and burnt as they are typically infested.
With everyone acting frenzied. BJ is fighting Hawkeye for making him smell his food. Radar is fighting Klinger for stealing his Teddy so he can buck for a section 8 in front of Sidney posing as a little girl. Margaret continues to do her work correctly, if not loudly, and Boston Baked Buffoon (Winchester) is wrong and cannot deal with it. Margaret insists that Winchester scrubs again (a 7.5 mins procedure) since he touched his nose. Winchester protests that he didn't, but to no avail. Potter orders Winchester to scrub up.
Col. Potter asks Sidney if he would visit with some of the "loonier" cases. Its been 2 weeks of nothing but work and the whole unit is like a pig on stilts.
Margaret talks to Sidney about how Winchester flaunts his money in front of everyone and that she is attracted by Money (2nd on her list) and that she thinks Winchester is attracted towards her. It is very clear that Houlihan finds Winchester and his money attractive and she started the whole nose business to gain his attention. Winchester walks in next and says he doesn't believe in psychiatry and that Margaret is obsessed with him, watches his every movement. Klinger and Radar are each genuinely worried that they themselves are crazy. Klinger is next and talks about how he is getting more and more fashion conscious by the day and thinks he is really going crazy. Radar is worried that he may be perceived crazy since he sleeps with a bear.
Sgt Zale has been asked to burn a set of Chinese uniforms as they may have been infested. Zale and his buddies assemble a bonfire of MASH furniture and are about to light it up, when Potter orders them to stop. Sidney advises Potter that the crew is not setting fire to the whole camp, but just some carefully selected bits of it. He advises this is the pressure valve they were looking for. A routine duty turns into a Potter-sanctioned 4077 organized activity to allow everyone to "let off some steam." Potter orders Zale and the crew to assemble one regulation bonfire. BJ and Hawkeye throw Winchester's cot in the bonfire.
The Swamp Rats see Tom is giving Sidney a hard time (Tom got his legs injured at the front after Sidney talked him into returning to the front after his first trauma) and the good doctor is beating himself up over it but only Father Mulcahy consults Sidney about Sidney.
