- Col. Potter discovers that his son-in-law has had an affair. Bob (Dennis Dugan) is on a business trips (he is in the business of import gifts, little doodads that sit around the house and look nice. The company has opened a new factory in Seoul and Bob has traveled over for an inspection) to Japan, and Potter pulled some strings to get him to Seoul and then to the MASH 4077. Potter connects on old times with Bob when he arrives at the 4077th. Potter says that when he first met Bob, he didn't like him. He felt Bob was sugar-coating everything a bit too much and that such a person cannot be a good human being. Potter says he was wrong about Bob and calls him a good friend.
The next he gets a call from a hotel in Seoul saying that Bob's wife left her nightgown in their hotel room in Seoul. Since Potter's daughter never traveled to Korea, Potter knows Bob cheated on her. Potter confides in Mulcahy and wants Evy (his daughter) to start divorce proceedings right away. He argues this is the one instance he caught and suspects that the cheating might have been going on for a while. Mulcahy asks him to calm down and talk to Bob directly. He says that they are in a war zone and he has seen many instances of the 6th commandment taking a beating. It does not necessarily mean the end of a good marriage. Potter argues that this is not a lonely soldier who has been away from his family for a yr. Bob has been travelling for a week.
Potter calls Evy, but doesn't tell her about Bob's escapades in Korea. Potter talks to Bob before he leaves and admits that he himself cheated on Mildred back in WW1 and was so guilty that he couldn't look at her for a week. Mildred knew, but she never let on. Potter advises Bob that no matter how well you hide it, the person himself always knows that he cheated. Its not worth it. Potter says it wasn't worth it to destroy 3 lives over 1 slip-up.
Meanwhile, Charles' snoring is keeping his tent-mates from getting a good night's sleep. The duo quickly figure out that a flower allergy is causing Winchester's snoring (It is spring in Korea and flowers are blooming all over the place), but Winchester would not take an antihistamine to make it go away. Moreover, despite recorded evidence (captured in Winchester's own recording device) Winchester wont admit that he snores. He says anyone can record snoring noises, and they don't belong to him. Winchester also refuses to leave the swamp for the duration of the spring.
Winchester confides in Mulcahy that he is afraid to admit he snores as that would mean he is not worthy of the Winchester name. He is afraid that he may be the same as everybody else. Mulcahy screams Winchester out of his tent that he is not superior to anyone and may not even be anyone's equal. The next time he snores, the whole camp comes out and complains to Winchester and makes him leave the swamp.
Eventually, Winchester stops snoring, but then BJ starts talking in his sleep.
