- TriviaThe episode features an injured Ethiopian soldier. The Ethiopian Kagnew Battalions were three successive battalions drawn from the 1st Division Imperial Bodyguard sent by Emperor Haile Selassie I between June 1951 and April 1954 as part of the United Nations forces in the Korean War. The Kagnews fought principally alongside the 7th Infantry Division suffering 121 dead and 536 wounded during the course of the conflict while having the distinction of never having a soldier surrender or be captured by the North.
- GoofsTrapper narrowly prevents Frank from removing a patient's kidney, saving the soldier's life since he only has one. But a man with only one kidney would have been declared 4F and would have been denied a chance to serve in the Army.

Featured review
This is simply an intense view of the operating room of the 4077th surgical hospital. It involves the give and take of the surgeons as they try to do their jobs, despite a variety of roadblocks. They don't always win and there are some near miracles. Hawkeye performs an open heart massage which has everyone stunned, only to lose the patient later. Frank nearly removes the only kidney a soldier has. Fortunately, Trapper stops him in time. The fatigue and effort are the stars of this drama. These guys just keep going. I don't know how accurate the series is. Can people really work with the precision of these guys for 32 hours straight? This does have the famous Sidney Friedman line in it: "Ladies and Gentlemen, take my advice. Pull down your pants and slide on the ice." I've used it many times.
