When the P.A. announcer tells everyone that General MaCarthur has passed "Checkpoint Able" and will be here in seconds, people start scurrying around. A closeup of Trapper and Hawkeye shows Trapper putting on his sunglasses. a second later, in a wider shot, he is seen putting his sunglasses on again.
In the Season 3 Ep 4 Iron Guts Kelly, it was established that General Douglas MacArthur had already been relieved as Commander of United Nations Command by President Truman and replaced by General Ridgeway.
In the mess tent, when Gen. MacArthur's aide is briefing everyone about the general's visit, the roof of the tent above where Hot Lips is sitting is folded back revealing the studio set behind it.
In the first scene, when Radar received the call that Ger. Douglas MacArthur was coming for a visit, and he had to get Lt. Colonel Blake. Radar gets up and runs out the front door leading out into the compound, instead of the door leading.into the O.R., which was another 5 or 6 steps to the right, were Lt. Colonel Blake was located. Next scene in the O.R., Radar comes through the correct door, from the office, to inform Blake of the call.
When Col. Blake is introducing the staff to Col. Whiteman in the mess tent, he says that Col. Whiteman "has very kindly condescended
to brief us all briefly on the general's impinging visit." "Impinging" has the negative connotation not unlike an intrusion -- which the happily excited Col. Blake wouldn't feel about Gen. MacArthur's visit. The correct word in this context is "impending" -- it's not clear whether this was intentional (there is no chuckle of canned laughter after the line) and may have been a malaprop on the part of McLean Stevenson.
When we see a closeup of MacArthur in the jeep as he is riding through the camp the camer showdow is visible on him.
In the next scene that shows the jeep at a distance you can clearly see the cameraman in the front passenger seat and turn around and put the camera between their legs.

In the final line of Capt. Spaulding's song for Gen. MacArthur's arrival, he sings, "...with your corncob pipe and your five gold stars." But the stars of a general, regardless of rank, are silver, not gold. This would be common knowledge to any soldier, especially to an officer such as Capt. Spaulding (although perhaps Spaulding used "gold" for the song's meter).
When Henry announces to the 4077 that MacArthur is coming, Radar makes two "right faces" to turn 180 degrees. In the military, anyone making such a turn would simply have made an "about face." Interestingly enough, Radar had just made an "about face." So, these two "right faces" really make no sense.
