In this and other episodes, Colonel Blake refers to being 20,000 miles from home. Since the earth is a little less than 25,000 miles in circumference, it is not possible to be more than 12,500 miles from anywhere else on the surface of the earth. The distance to Bloomington, Illinois is about 6,600 miles.
