Great acting

As usual, Lazarus is riding along, minding his own business, when he discovers something that begins the story of the current episode.

Parallels to "The Fugitive" continue to be felt. Lazarus travels around the post Civil War west seeking his true identity and having adventures along the way. Why he doesn't travel east, where his flashbacks have placed him is not explained.

This time he encounters a woman who was captured by Comanches as a child and helps a group of men "rescue" her.

Mark Rolston is pretty good as Captain Maxwell, the leader of the local militia whose family was killed by Comanches while he was away serving the Confederacy in the Civil War. Maxwell makes it plain that he hates Comanches, making him unsympathetic to the feelings of the woman he and his men "rescued."

Lazarus, as befitting a 20th century hero in the 19th century West, takes the woman's side and is sympathetic to Native Americans. "Live and let live" is his philosophy.

Maxwell, who represents the feelings of actual historical figures, comes off as a vindictive man who lusts for Comanche blood.

Historical revisionism aside, I found the plot to be interesting and the conclusion satisfying.

Kellie Overbey does a good job as the woman who was captured by Comanches as a child and now identifies as a member of that group.

Other supporting actors perform well, too, particularly Tym Thurston as Mrs. Crosby.
