- Ron Carver: There it is in a nutshell. Larry Wiegert's word against the governor, his wife, the chief of staff, the whole damn political machine.
- Detective Alexandra Eames: There they go, down the rabbit hole.
- Ron Carver: We can still get Richard Uffland for murder.
- Detective Alexandra Eames: If we can find him.
- Ron Carver: His wife can point us in the right direction.
- Detective Alexandra Eames: Now why would she do that?
- Ron Carver: Because you're going to arrest her. And if she doesn't cooperate, she doesn't get out of jail.
- Detective Robert Goren: No! That's not the deal that we made with her.
- Ron Carver: I didn't authorize you to make any deal.
- Detective Alexandra Eames: You damn well did. We told her what you told us, that you had no interest in sending her to jail.
- Ron Carver: I didn't. But if I have to, I will. And now I have to.
- Detective Robert Goren: Well I'm not arresting her.
- Detective Alexandra Eames: Count me out too.
- Detective Robert Goren: We're supposed to be better than the people we're prosecuting. The governor might've taken a bribe, but he kept up his end of the bargain.
- Ron Carver: These people, whoever they are, will eventually get around to you, your mother, or anyone else who can tie them to these murders.
- Greg Generae: My mom and son, what are you offering them?
- Detective Robert Goren: State witness protection program? You might as well buy them a plot at Woodlawn.
- Greg Generae: Yeah, you got that right.
- Detective Robert Goren: But I know people in the Fed. People that owe me favors. I can get someone in so deep, even I couldn't find them.
- Greg Generae: Someplace good. They need a life, and they need to be safe, both.
- Isaacs: Wait a minute, you're not buying this?
- Ron Carver: I can do that.
- Greg Generae: You give me your word?
- Ron Carver: I give you my word.
- Isaacs: You should be giving him immunity.
- Ron Carver: Not for two murders.
- Stephanie Uffland: I'm doing what I have to do to keep my family together.
- Detective Robert Goren: I respect that. I'm just telling you, plain as I know how, this investigation is going to take its course. You're the only one caring for those kids. If you go to jail, what happens them?
- Stephanie Uffland: Wait. I - I can't go to jail.
- McGowan: OK, what kind of consideration are we talking about here?
- Detective Alexandra Eames: The DA said they're not eager to send her to jail.
- McGowan: So, immunity? Probation?
- Detective Robert Goren: Something like that. If they like what they hear.
- Detective Robert Goren: You know that driver? He's all jammed up on a gambling thing. That's how they got to him. How did these people get to you? Your drugs? Your kid?
- Greg Generae: I should've shot you when I had the chance.
- Detective Robert Goren: I've heard that.
