The first series comes to an end with Muriel going away for the weekend and an old friend of Dudley coming around.
Dick is a bit of a womanizer and Muriel does not like him.
Once Dick knows that Muriel is away. He plans a wild night out with Dudley.
Dick brings a few ladies with him and tells them that Dudley is a movie producer. The ladies are even more excited when Dudley tells them the truth. He is a comic strip artist.
It all ends with Dudley bringing them to his home for a nightcap. Not realising that Muriel had to cancel her plans.
This has the 1970s tropes of older men somehow attracting young dolly birds. Given that Dudley has two daughters at home. He did not stop to think about them when bringing back Dick and the two ladies.
It was not really an amusing episode but once again Robert Gillespie tries to do his best with a duff script.
