- The admiral orders a hearing about the allegedly inadequate defense by Bud in the previous episode. Sturgis prosecutes, and Harm defends. Harm discovers why Bud did not find a key witness and an alibi. The admiral meets an intriguing lady.
- RAdm. Chegwidden finds it necessary to convene a hearing about the accusation that Bud provided an inadequate defense during the previous episode (to avoid any favoritism, other impropriety, or an appearance of such). Sturgis prosecutes, and Harm defends. Sparks fly between Harm and Sturgis, and Mac reluctantly appears as a witness for the prosecution. Bud and Harriet cope. Harm discovers the reason for which Bud did not succeed in contacting a key witness who could have provided an alibi for the defendant. Sturgis tries (but fails) to set up the admiral with a lady, and the admiral stumbles (albeit clumsily) into one by himself.—DocRushing
- Bud is accused of failing to defend his client properly (in the previous episode The Mission), and Mac is the key prosecution witness with Harm defending Bud in a case that could ultimately affect Bud's entire career not only as a lawyer but also Bud's whole career in the United States Navy. Otherwise, the staff try very hard to set up Admiral Chegwidden with a nice woman.
- Tensions run high at JAG when charges of negligence are brought against Bud for not defending his last client effectively. As Harm defends Bud, Sturgis prosecutes and Bud fears that Sturgis has damaging evidence against him. Just when Bud thinks things can't get any worse, Sturgis calls a surprise witness - Mac - who reluctantly takes the stand against her colleague.
