When did the Chief become an expert?
In the last episode Michael Anderson, Jr. tried to kill Sian Barbara Allen a woman seemingly possessed by the dead ghost of her late brother. Now as Anderson is in the hospital, he's dispatched forthwith to the next world and the Ironside squad has to figure out who did it. Another question is how credible is psychic Carolyn Jones or psychiatrist Bill Bixby or Allen's stepfather Dane Clark.
The real villain unmasks early in this second part of a two part story and hypnosis is the weapon the villain uses. As Raymond Burr moves closer to a solution, he puts himself in danger as Elizabeth Baur comes under the hypnotic spell. That was a tense semi-climax.
Which sadly is spoiled a bit by Chief Ironside working like Ingrid Bergman in Spellbound to uncover the source of Gregory Peck's psychosis. I mean really, when did the Chief become such an expert.
Still one for fans of the show.
