- It's 1989. In the fictional small town of Sparta, Mississippi on a warm night in late spring there is an outdoor teenage dance party being held. 13 year old Corrie Kroller (played brilliantly by Dana Barron, who also played Audrey in the 1983 film, "National Lampoon's vacation") is chatting up with a blond friend when they spot some gorgeous, older teenage guys eyeing them from afar. Corrie tells her friend she is going to be the bold one and goes off with one of the boys after they beckon her over. She takes a walk with one of them while his other friend sits waiting on a moped nearby. The other friend on the bike offers his buddy "something" before driving away. Corrie and this other guy continue their walk. He takes her behind some bushes, then he offers her the "something" which turns out to be the highly addictive drug crack cocaine. The plot thickens from that night on after which Corrie has her parents, younger sister and teachers at school notice her acting "strangely." Why no one knows. Spartan police Officers Gillepsie and Sweet find out about all this after they received a call about items being "stolen" from Corrie's parent's home. The police feel crack use is involved in this case. Officer Sweet feels an emotional attachment to this as he had a cousin who used this drug and died. But Police Chief Gillepsie (portrayed by award winning actor Caroll O'Conner) commands him to stay off the case because he worries his emotions will interfere with the legalities of it. However, Sweet is still determined to "crackdown" on this case. What happens to the young, impressionable Corrie? Her family? The officers? The drug pushers? Got to watch to find out.
