- TriviaEarly in the show Lucy says that she and Ethel can write the operetta referring to them as "Ethel Romberg and Lucy Friml" and to Ricky as "John Charles Ricardo." These are references to Sigmund Romberg (composer of "The Student Prince," "The Desert Song" and other operettas), Rudolf Friml (composer of "Rose-Marie" and "The Vagabond King" and others), and John Charles Thomas who was a popular operetta baritone.
- GoofsDuring the operetta when the repossession men are taking away the costumes and scenery, as they are removing Ricky's pants one of the chorus members can be seen waiting backstage for her cue to enter screaming.
- Quotes
Lucy Ricardo: [in charge of operetta to benefit the club she and Ethel are in, which doesn't know that there is no money in its account because Lucy has been borrowing from it] Well, we could save money by writing the operetta ourselves.
Ethel Mertz: We? Who's we?
Lucy Ricardo: We is Ethel Romberg and Lucy Friml, that's who we is.

We like to drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, drink . . .
I love this episode because there's a musical in the second act plus the lyrics are hilarious. Always fun to see Ethel sing. The Pleasant Peasants is actually not a bad title. The singing dialogue with Lucy and peasant woman was a gem she warns Lucy about the men taking away the costumes and scenery (singing). Lucy as a witch my inspiration mimicking as a kid. And the Chorus Peasants sing her song makes me laugh every time.
