Here is a nice twist to a theme that has run throughout the series. Instead of Klink avoiding going to the Russian front this episode makes him volunteer for duty.
It all begins when a German Colonel, Becker, arrives at camp and advises Hogan that he has some secret papers. Becker has been on the Russian front for a period of time and will give Hogan the papers if he can get him transferred as the Commandant of Stalag 13.
Hogan likes Klink but believes the information is vital to the Allied effort and agrees to help Becker replace Klink. But it will not be easy since we all know Klink is not a fighter.
But leave it to Hogan to convince Klink that all he hears about the Russina front is false. He hears snow and freezing weather when actually there is swimming pools and movie stars. Old 'Blood and Guts' Klink will soon asked to be transferred.
Another enjoyable episode that was interesting from beginning to end. Things do not go as expected for our heroes so they have to play-by-ear to make the outcome agreeable. The script was fresh and the story bold. Another good show in the final season of the series.
