Out three new cops are put to the test and utterly fail at even basic concepts in this episode. The idea is pretty idiotic, and even though Hawaii Five-O has had plenty of patently ridiculous coincidences, this one far more than most.
"He can't be bad--he's a member of our club" is one of the stupidest lines, though I have to say that the actor and character who give the line are far better than the Blonde ditz who just joined the team--why didn't McGarret hire her instead?
The villain--a self-righteous vigilante--could have benefited from some basic civics classes on the history of the American Revolution and Thomas Paine's Common Sense. Instead, he sounds like something out of a bad comic book. The Punisher at least has a reason for being nuts--we don't really get a reason for why these elitist snobs, who are even more elitist than the rest of the club, got started or what their motivations were.
What happened to the writing team for this season? The stories and scripts are really terrible. (That said, the worst of this show is still better than the best of the remake!)
