Welcome to Season 4. And this is one episode I actually remember quite well, the main portion of which being J&J sleeping thru the bad guys hijacking their bed while they're actually still sleeping in it, then waking up on the open road, naked in bed! I always had a love/hate relationship with that whole thing. I can only suspend disbelief just so far. BUT. That's OK, there's a lot to love from a fangirl perspective on this one. Such as the fact that there's a slew of location scenes that were shot in San Francisco where oodles and and oodles of fans and onlookers watched Stefanie & RJ film their scenes. Everything from a rotating trolley car to Fisherman's Wharf, the gawkers are front and center. I was also sad to see that RJ had aged a bit over hiatus. It's only fair, considering that they guy was in his 50's before the age of skin peels and quality moisturizers plus mourning the tragic death of his wife, so ... I should just digress. But wait, there's more corny goodness! At one point, there's a cheesy effect of the dust cover flying off the bed as it gets towed down the road. There had to be a better way to pull that thing off. There's audio/vid unsync'd later on, and then there's a whole car chase with the bed in tow behind the yellow Mercedes, then just the bed! And that's just the first half hour! So, yes, this first episode of the fourth season is nutty, even in ways I haven't begun to recount. But there are so many sweet parts and adorable looks, and the whole interaction between the two during the bidding process is adorable. Plus, it's just hammy fun. So, I give it relatively higher marks, anyway. It doesn't get crazier than this!
