James Nusser (Krego's first victim) makes his second of 81 appearance in this show. It will still be five more years, however, before Nusser is cast in the recurring role of town drunk Louie Pheeters.
In the unedited version, there is an odd scene where Matt and Chester approach a gypsy in Dodge City played by James Arness's wife at the time, Virginia Chapman. She is uncredited in this show; however, in a previous episode, Reed Survives (1955), she is credited as a gypsy but never seen. Considering Matt Dillion's clothing in the scene, it was most likely filmed at an earlier time and used in this show. The scene has nothing to do with the story or plot.
Virginia Chapman (the Gypsy) was married to James Arness from 1948-63. Chapman died in 1977, age 56, of an accidental overdose.
This episode aired on James Arness's 33rd birthday
First appearance of Dabbs Greer as Mr. Jonas.
