Parent Show Visits Spinoff
With all the story ideas taken from Andy Griffith, it makes sense to let Opie appear in a Gomer episode. By this point Andy Griffith was missing Don Knotts, so Gomer Pyle provides more laughs. Still this episode looks like another Ron Howard movie, Courtship of Eddie's Father. Seems like it could be funnier. Still it's heart is in the right place. Frank Sutton does his part to further this movie along. It's easier to write 600 words, when two series are involved. Howard seems more prolific than good as a child actor. Still his acting exceeds what he did as a director. There's funnier Gomer Pyle and Andy Griffith episodes. Still the syrup is left out. And Griffith makes a cameo, too.
