Seth MacFarlane and Rachael MacFarlane make an uncredited cameo as the folk singers at the end of the episode as the singers in the play Rory is reviewing.
While being confronted by Sandra the ballerina in regards to her harsh review, Rory states that people aren't that interested in ballet because it's "Avril Lavigne's world and we're just living in it". Rory is referencing the popular Lavigne song "Sk8er Boy" where the artist disparages a female ballerina who is the ex of a love interest.
Paris' line "I got my East Side 860 partners on it - now let's move" is a reference to gang activity in New York. 860 is a high class area in the Upper East Side on Park Ave.
Lane is supposed to send a package from her mother to Dave, Lane's boyfriend from Season 3, in California. Adam Brody (Dave) is actually starring in The O.C. based out of Orange County, California at the time of filming this episode.
