- Arthur Morwood-Smyth: Do you often go wandering about by yourself at night, young lady?
- Elisa Maza: Who are you?
- Professor Duane: I'm Professor Lydia Duane. And this is my colleague, Dr. Arthur Moorwood-Smyth. We're archaeologists here on a holiday.
- Elisa Maza: Then how about telling me *exactly* where here is. And for that matter who I am.
- Professor Duane: I thought you looked familiar. We've met before; remember the Scrolls of Merlin?
- Elisa Maza: No. I'm sorry.
- Dr. Arnada: You seem healthy to me. I'm not a psychiatrist, but I'd say you suffered some kind of severe emotional trauma; your mind is temporarily blocking out things that are too painful to remember.
- Elisa Maza: You mean like my whole life?
- Arthur Morwood-Smyth: We'll book Ms. Maza on the next flight out.
- Goliath: [Enters] I'm afraid I cannot allow that.
- Professor Duane: Merciful heavens!
- Elisa Maza: What in the - ?
- Goliath: No time to explain, Elisa. You're coming with me!
- Elisa Maza: Stay back!
- [pulls out her gun and aims at him]
- Goliath: [Picks her up] Elisa stop struggling. I am Goliath. We are friends.
- Elisa Maza: Get your claws off me!
- Goliath: [Goliath jumps out the window and starts gliding] You may want to reconsider your request.
- Elisa Maza: Oh, we're going to die!
- Goliath: I will not let anything harm you.
- Elisa Maza: Whoa, Tiny, you mean there's more than one of you?
- Goliath: My name is not Tiny" I am Goliath! Think - the castle, Xanatos, gargoyles.
- Elisa Maza: Stop it! STOP IT! I just don't remember! I'm not even sure I *want* to remember!
- Elisa Maza: That's some story all right. Gargoyle clans, mutated brothers, magic spells. You threw everything in but King Arthur and the Holy Grail.
- Goliath: Yes, well... we haven't encountered the Holy Grail yet.
- Elisa Maza: It's too much. Even with you standing here as proof, it's too much! I can't even remember what my parents look like, and you expect me to trust you?
- Goliath: Trust you instincts, Elisa. I always have.
- Elisa Maza: Instincts? So far all I've got are doubts, and right now they're mostly about you! How can I be sure we're even on the same side? How do I know you didn't cause my amnesia to gain my trust?
- [Runs off]
- Elisa Maza: And to think I was starting to trust this Goliath.
- Nokkar: The hardships of the Galactic War taught me long ago that trust is a rare and precious commodity, not to be given lightly.
- Nokkar: [Aiming a large weapon at Elisa and the Gargoyles] I will forgive your lapse in judgement, human. If you step away from them, NOW!
- Elisa Maza: I can't do that! Maybe I'm missing some memories, but I still have my instincts. And they tell me these creatures are my friends.
- Nokkar: And you trust these instincts enough to risk your life, your world?
- Elisa Maza: I do!
- Nokkar: Then you leave me know choice...
- [deactivates it and moves towards them, then stops]
- Nokkar: I must believe them too. My mind-cleansing process destroys only false memories. The loyalty you feel returning must be genuine.
- Goliath: Though we come from different worlds, we have our mission in common. We both are protectors, guardians, sentinels.
- Elisa Maza: [controlling the skiff after the gargolyes have turned to stone] For all Nokkar knows his Galactic War could have ended centuries ago. And yet he'll stay at his post ever vigilant. I can't remember yet if I've got that sense of duty. But I've got a feeling you guys do.
