- Goliath: It is the nature of humans to fear what they do not understand. Their ways are not our ways.
- Captain of the Guard: Their leader swore they'd be back. It's best to harry them far away and not take that chance!
- Goliath: ...Very well. But *I* shall do it! I can scare those *cowards* away without any help.
- Demona: That's too dangerous for you! Let me come along at least!
- Goliath: You and the others will stay with the castle. You are my best warrior. I leave you in command.
- Demona: No! I cannot let you!
- Goliath: I won't go alone. Remember you and I are one, now and forever.
- Viking Warrior: Attacking a castle full of gargoyles near nightfall, this is crazy! And Hakon knows it!
- Hakon: [grabs the warrior] No, my friend, that's not crazy. Questioning my sanity when I'm in earshot, THAT'S crazy!
- [to his men]
- Hakon: I say those gargoyles are naught but chiseled stone! And even if they aren't it's worth the risk for the plunder within! ATTACK!
- Tom: I'm Tom, what's your name?
- Lexington: Except for Goliath, we don't have names.
- Tom: How do you tell each other apart?
- Lexington: We look different.
- Tom: But what do you call each other?
- Brooklyn: Friend.
- Tom's mother: Tom, get away from those monsters.
- Tom: But mother..
- Brooklyn: We wouldn't hurt the lad, ma'am.
- Tom's mother: Keep away from him, you beasts.
- [throws a wooden club at Brooklyn's shoulder]
- Demona: [angrily points finger at Tom's mother; her eyes glow red] Your the beasts you...
- [Brooklyn interrupts her, already mad and upset that him and his rookery brother were being unfairly harrased]
- Brooklyn: No, if they think we're beasts and monsters...
- Lexington: Then perhaps we better live up to the name.
- [their eyes glow white so they can defend themselves]
- Broadway: [alarmed] What is it? Are we being attacked again?
- [Goliath and Hudson arrive]
- Goliath: [angrily to Brooklyn, Broadway, and Lexington] you three down to the rookery until I return I'll deal with you then
- [they gasp; pointing to Bronx]
- Goliath: and take him with you
- [Bronx sadly growls]
- Brooklyn: [going into the rookery; to Goliath] We meant no harm.
- Brooklyn: [about joining the battle] Shall we let our brothers and sisters have all the fun?
- [he glides into the battle]
- Lexington: Not afraid are you?
- Broadway: Afraid... Me? Ha. Why all of nature trembles at my passing.
- [he puts his stomach but it flops back out]
- Lexington: [chuckles] I can see why.
- [they also glide into battle]
- Princess Katharine: Captain, we are most seriously displeased to allow beasts in the Dining Hall!
- Magus: You speak wisely, Princess. These are unnatural creatures. No good can come from associating with them.
- Lexington: [watching Broadway eat some slime in the rookery] I hope we're not down here long. He might eat us.
- Hakon: Not that I'm ungrateful for your help, but why? Why betray your own kind?
- Captain of the Guard: They're *not* my kind!
- [first lines]
- Morgan: [to the crowd] Get back! Get back!
- Elisa Maza: [Showing her badge] Maza! 23rd. What's going on?
- Morgan: Got me, detective. Must be a heck of a party up there!
- [Having captured the castle, Hakon raises his mace to smash the gargoyles. The Captain grabs his hand]
- Captain of the Guard: There's no need for that! You've taken the castle already.
- Hakon: Are you mad? In moments, they'll be flesh again, and my men will be their prey!
- Captain of the Guard: Once your band is out of sight, they won't follow! It's not their nature.
- Hakon: Ah. Well, in that case...
- [Hakon shoves the Captain against the wall, and raises his mace again]
- Hakon: Care to discuss the matter further?
- Captain of the Guard: ...No.
- Hakon: I haven't lived this long by taking foolish chances.
- [He smashes the gargoyles, while the Captain watches in horror]
