Some horses are being stolen and the blame lies with a local gypsy camp with some of the ranchers.
Only Jim Newton stands up for the gypsies. After all if they have been stealing the horses, where have they been kept.
Meanwhile Joey befriends one of the gypsy boys.
It turns out a few of the locals have been stealing the horses and selling them on. The gypsies just turned out to be convenient to be blamed.
Now they plan to steal Fury and make the gypsies a scapegoat. This time they will steal a pendant from one of them and conveniently leave it lying around.
Only Joey goes looking for Fury when it is missing and finds a couple of the horse thieves.
Well it is good to see Jim standing up for the gypsies, which is more than others. I did wonder what the horse thieves planned to do when the gypsies were not around.
It was notable that the budget for the gypsies here was just one family.
