The 5-1/4-inch format floppy disk was prevalent in the 1970s but, by the time this series was made, it was already becoming obsolete. The larger floppy disk would be replaced by a smaller floppy and, eventually, floppies would be replaced as a method of storing files altogether about 15 years later.
