The name of the modest English soccer team Nottingham Hotspurs is a contraction of the English soccer teams Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur. Forest and Spurs played the 1991 FA Cup Final. Spurs won the final 1-2.
This is the last title in which Pico Coppens plays a prominent role. Walter Michiels makes his final appearance in the season's finale Love Story (1993), though the character's screen time dropped remarkably. Michiels had a feud going with part of the cast. He was dismissed off-season. Compared to his final appearance he looks fine and is so heavily involved that it seems recorded much earlier than most of the other season four titles which, however, has never been confirmed.
In a fourth season blooper, Loes van den Heuvel (Carmen) has one of her waffles burnt, leaving a burning smell on the set. In the scene, Marc (Herman Verbruggen) talks the waffle party as he hosts it for Boma's radio station Radio Hallo. Verbruggen was the first to notice she burnt it, saying "Mrs Waterslaeghers just finished a waffle, let's see". It prompts An Swartenbroekx (Bieke) to banter out of character "Marc was just making a joke, the waffles are in fact delicious". The moment is part of an actual scene. In the actual scene, the waffle gets actually burnt.
Boma's team bus breaks in half as it collides with a milk truck when Dimitri 'teaches' Boma how British (English) people drive. This is about the first time the show is cutting corners of realism.
In the blooper with Loes Van den Heuvel's burnt waffle, Walter Michiels can be seen joking around at the bar counter as if nothing's wrong. It could have been a bright moment of the actor, though. At the time, Michiels had to contend with personal problems which his co-stars claimed they had little control over or which they had a hard time dealing with.
