- The show continues in Italy. Ray starts to appreciate Italy and Robert must avoid Stefania's father if he wishes to see tomorrow.
- When Marie surprises the family with the news that she's treating them all to a two-week vacation in Rome, everybody loves the idea, except Raymond. Not willing to let his sour mood spoil it for the rest of the family, Debra, Frank, Marie, Robert and the kids go on their merry way and soak up the atmosphere, sights, smells and tastes of the city of love and try their best to ignore Ray. Meanwhile, Robert meets the girl of his dreams-she's stunningly beautiful, unbelievably sexy, and works in a gelato shop.
- Debra finally gets tired of following Marie's schedule. Marie is relentless in taking Debra from one tourist spot to the next and even frowns when Debra takes a bathroom break in between for 40 minutes. Ray refuses to intervene as he knew that this was how it was going to get. Debra is livid and says that at least Marie is trying to have a good time and Ray has been nothing but grumpy the entire trip. Ray returns home and Frank follows when he gets a sub burn on his head. Robert comes in hiding from Marco and Giorgio says that Marco will kill Robert for hooking up with his daughter. He is already looking for Robert with his shovel. Robert tells Ray that he is missing Italy and that he should wake up before he misses the whole thing.
Finally, Ray's cold clears up, and he manages to get some time away from Debra, by taking a walk with Marie. As a result, he starts to enjoy the trip. He finally realizes that he is in Italy and his cold clears up after eating a single slice of the local pizza. Ray buys a bouquet of flowers for Debra.
Marie is upset that Robert is so "happy" and she doesn't like seeing Robert this way.
At a local barbecue, Stefania's father meets Robert and says that he dislikes him to his face. Marco orders him to stay away from Stefania. Robert tries to explain that he is a good man, with honorable intentions and he comes from an honorable family. He says that Stefania is a precious person, and he understands how Marco feels. Marco refuses to budge.
Ray has finally gotten in the swing of the holiday, and gets romantic with Debra, giving her flowers, taking her for a bicycle ride around the island and, unfortunately, injuring her several times in his clumsy excitement about Italian life. Ray says that the town is full of history going back thousands of years, while they have no history back home in America. Debra is amazed that this Ray has been missing the entire trip. Rome visits Rome again with Debra and they all the spots together. Ray also takes the kids for a bike ride through the village. At the end of it all, Ray and Debra share a kiss. Ray even enjoys a bath given to him by Colletta. Before long, it is time for the family to go back to America.
The family says their goodbyes to Colletta and Giorgio. Ray invites Giorgio and Colletta to visit them in the USA. Ray says that he was just beginning to understand the life in Italy, and it was already time for him to return. Colletta tells Ray to live his life.
When it comes time for Robert to say goodbye to Stefania, he tells her she can visit him in America sometime. Marco was watching over them the whole time with a shovel in his hands. Ray is really sad to leave Italy. On their way back to the airport, the family sings an Italian song.
