- T'Pol is being recalled because of Enterprise's involvement in the destruction of the P'Jem sanctuary. She and Captain Archer are later kidnapped while visiting the planet Coridan.
- The Andorians destroyed the Vulcan P'Jem sanctuary and the Vulcans are not very happy. They think Archer is to blame because he discovered with the Andorians that P'Jem was actually a Vulcan listening post. Ambassador Soval suspends all joint fleet operations and admiral Forrest has to tell the bad news to Archer: T'Pol is being recalled. Archer takes her on one final mission, a visit to the planet Coridan. Their shuttle pod is shot down however and Archer and T'Pol are taken hostage by a rebel faction opposing the government.—Arnoud Tiele (imdb@tiele.nl)
- The Vulcan ambassador Soval protests with Admiral Forrest, blaming Captain Archer from the destruction of the P'Jem sanctuary by the Andorians after the discovery that the place was a surveillance post. As retaliation, the Vulcan High Command interrupts the joint operation with humans and calls T'Pol back. Archer decides to spend more time alone with T'Pol and assigns her to visit the planet Coridan with him. However, their shuttle pod is attacked by a radical faction of Coridans and they are taken hostage. While Trip and Reed try to rescue their Captain and Sub-Commander, they are surprisingly helped by the Andorian Commander Shran.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- A Vulcan delegation, headed by Ambassador Soval (Gary Graham), complains to Admiral Forrest (Vaughn Armstrong) about the recent diplomatic incident at P'Jem. After the Enterprise left, the Andorians surrounded the monastery and gave the monks 3 hrs before they started bombarding it. The monks survived, but P'Jem was decimated. Soval blames Captain Archer (whom Soval thinks is too impulsive to command a star-ship): in response, joint fleet operations are suspended, and Sub-Commander T'Pol is to be recalled from her post. A Vulcan ship will reach Enterprise in 2 days to take T'Pol back. T'Pol puts up a brave, logical face.. but inside she knows that in 6 months, she has also become part of the Enterprise crew.
Enterprise is already on its way to Coridan, a planet which has a mining agreement with the Vulcans and the largest star-ship construction yards in the sector. Some Coridan ships are rumored to have reached warp 7. As Archer and T'Pol head to the capital city, their shuttle-pod is captured. Later, they try to escape, but are soon recaptured by Traeg (Jeff Kober), an anti-government leader, who then sends a ransom request of 40 phase weapons to Enterprise (The Enterprise is carrying only 15 phase pistols). During their captivity Archer and T'Pol have an argument about why T'Pol is not fighting this unfair order from the Vulcan high command, due to which she will most probably be demoted when she reaches Vulcan. The Chancellor of Coridan says this is an isolated incident, promises to find Archer and T'Pol and says that the Enterprise should not give any equipment to the rebels.
After refusing to co-operate with the Vulcans (the ship Ni'var sent by Soval to return T'Pol to Vulcan) and their rescue mission (The Vulcans plan to send an assault team to the rebel base without considering that the rebels might kill Archer and T'Pol in the process, so Tucker refuses to give them the location of Archer which they found by locating a signature of the shuttle pod), Commander Tucker and Lieutenant Reed mount their own, leaving Sato to somehow distract them.
The pair are soon 'captured' by Commander Shran (Jeffrey Combs) and Tholos (Steven Dennis) of the Andorian Imperial Guard (Who had followed Sopek, whom they had under surveillance since he is the senior-most Vulcan commander in the sector), who want to repay Archer for his interventions at P'Jem. The Vulcans are propping up the government at Coridan, while the Andorians support the rebels. The humans and Andorians covertly break into the rebel compound where Archer and T'Pol are being held, while the Vulcans, led by Captain Sopek (Gregory Itzin), attempt a more direct rescue mission.
The rival groups then confront one another amid the wreckage of the compound. As they argue about treaty violations, T'Pol notices Traeg targeting the group. She pushes Sopek out of the way and takes the phaser blast meant for him. Archer gathers her up and leaves with his away-team. In Sickbay, Doctor Phlox treats her, and Sopek arrives to ask about her condition. Archer asks that T'Pol be given a second chance, and he agrees to lobby the Vulcan High Command on her behalf. As they leave, Phlox revives T'Pol with a hypo-spray, and Archer says that she will be on Enterprise for a while longer.
