Cybill (1995)--which premiered almost three months after this episode aired--also copied the name for Christine Baranski's character (Maryann) from this episode: it is the name of the mystery woman (Marion) who dials the wrong number when Adam answers the phone, and they start dating.
Kenneth Kimmins here revisits toupee jokes 9 months after his role in The Babywreckers (1994), where the intro tag saw him as a toupee salesman introducing the concept of wearing progressively fuller toupees every three weeks to make the change appear "inconspicuous".
Ellen made fun of celebrities nearly every week. Here she mocks Burt Reynolds, William Shatner, and Mary Hart for being bald. The Nanny (1993) copied that element from this sitcom and even made fun of Shatner, calling him "the oldest body orbiting the sun" in Franny and the Professor (1995), her Jeopardy episode. Every week, she'd also mock a different celebrity.
