Luca senses his kindness to Carol, even allowing her to stray from hospital protocol, can't outweigh resilient feeling for Ross, whom she was too proud to follow to Seattle. Emotional over a dying DNR cancer patient whom she hopes to keep alive just long enough for her young children to say their goodbyes, Hathaway realizes she must see Ross and admits to Kovac that Ross is the love of her life but she urges Kovac not to stop looking for love. Abby is supervised by Malucci, who thoughtlessly signs off her potentially fatal no-treatment diagnosis on a case that leads Corday to tell him that no one at County thinks he is any good at his job. While preparing for his father's funeral and ashes, to deliver with daughter Rachel who loves the necklace Elizabeth returned, Mark urges Carter to therapy. Abby over steps the mark treating a a patient with what she thinks is a simple OB complaint which meens Malucci gets in trouble for not supervising her properly. Chen gets suspicious as Carter's behaviour gets more and more eratic.
