- TriviaIn the first 8 seasons, the show would constantly have unauthorized individuals walking freely through the ER, ranging from family members of patients to criminals. This was done for dramatic purposes but is completely fictionalized relative to how every major ER department in the country handles security (and triage for patients). Early in Season 9, the show brought in real-life security and patient control measures that are much more realistic.

Tax The Wealthy!
This episode was a missed opportunity to state the obvious: Corrupt politicians cut taxes for the wealthy while cutting publicly funded healthcare services. I was hoping to see the local news report on the safety concerns of the employees and demand that politicians raise taxes on the wealthy to fully fund the hospital. The wealthy hoard more than enough money to cover the costs of healthcare.
