- TriviaNot the first time there is an episode in this series with this title. Previous one was in 1984. Back then, Amanda (then still played by Catherine Oxenberg) was trying to find out the identity of her father from Alexis.
- Quotes
Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: [waking up in the middle of the night to find him out of bed standing in front of the window looking out] Clay? What are you doing?
Clay Fallmont: I couldn't sleep.
Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: [coming up behind him, putting her arms around him] You usually sleep like a rock. What's changed?
Clay Fallmont: [sighs] We have.
[turns around to look her in the eyes]
Clay Fallmont: Sammy Jo, I care for you...
Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Care? I'm gonna have your baby and you care for me? That's all?
Clay Fallmont: I wanna do what's right, but my gut is turning inside. It's like my whole life has been decided for me, regardless of how I feel.
Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: I see. And the baby?
Clay Fallmont: I want you to have an abortion.
Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: We've gone from me deciding your life to you deciding mine, feel better?
Clay Fallmont: Look, Sammy Jo, I don't wanna hurt you...
Sammy Jo Dean Carrington: Worry about yourself, Clay. I'll take care of me. And for right now, maybe you should leave. I'll sleep much better alone.

But now, on to the delectable main subject: the very beautiful young starlet, that girl from T.J. HOOKER.
Okay, yes, really useless trivia, but the title I just gave this review made me remember, yes, I ran a South African fan club for Heather Locklear. It was kinda small, and, surprisingly, predominant membership: awestruck teenage girls. That was in 1986. And, yes, members got responses from the lady herself :)
As for this episode, I, as a male, can wholeheartedly understand Clay's point of view re the pregnancy, so while the average female viewer would boo and hiss at the "fickle louse, the flake, etc." yes, of course, I can understand. BUT this is a story set in the Fantasia that is Hollywood, er, Aaron Spelling Productions, and if the future "old ball and chain" is gonna be young Heather Locklear... Gee, just look at those eyes... I'll push that pram... :)
I daresay that one look into the eyes of Heather Locklear is enough to turn anybody's knees to water. If that sounds like a ridiculous claim, it can only be because you are one of the uninitiated. Then you must see her. Witness the fiery young lady, cornered by fate in her bad choice of partner, facing single motherhood like a young tiger kitten. Notice that Clay stands in the dark somber- faced, while Sammy Jo has a halo of light symbolizing her drive.
More than thirty years ago!
I'm not saying DYNASTY has stood the test of time. But as the years rolled by (this is already the umpteenth episode) it is already a much slicker production, and though it's still only 1986, it's already able to, at least somewhat hold a candle to MELROSE PLACE and the like. That is, when weak link Karen Cellini doesn't toss it all away. Fortunately those other weak links are still in absentia, that dreadful jazz singer and the other impostor transplanted to THE COLBYS, let me not even mention their names. But as I began saying, I know it's 2017 now, and finding a new audience for DYNASTY is very unlikely, few people would choose such an old show... BUT I heartily recommend taking a look at glamour icon Heather Locklear. She is head and shoulders above the rest. Blake and Alexis might well be the main characters, but Sammy Jo is definitely third, I mean, Krystle is there in name only, we the fans all know that.
Heather Locklear, back in her heyday. Heart- renderingly beautiful. Altogether now, guys, some girls too, sigh!!
