They protect your nipples.

The Canteen staff prepare for a Royal visit, and Stan has encountered one of them before.

It's a terrifically funny episode, observational humour at its absolute best, the clashing of two very different worlds, ordinary working class people, and those that don't perhaps understand the meaning of everyday life.

So clever was Wood's writing, that each character gets great lines, and here both Twinkle and Anita are hilarious, Anita with her nipples, and Twinkle with her loss of words.

Richenda Carey and Simon Williams are excellent as the Royal couple, so funny.

A class act as always, 8/10.

"I mentioned Nipples"

As a Republican I am glad that I did not have to contend with them, in any workplace I have ever worked in.

I would have wasted a days holiday to avoid, any possibilities of having anything to do with them.

Victoria Wood actually puts into the mouth of the Z List Royal, the pointless nature of their 'Work'.

Brenda expressed to him the ideas that, regrettably are all to prevent even today.

For me it's a painful reality that too many of my, erstwhile work mates were in all probability not unlike Stan.

I don't know what Victoria Wood's views were of the Royal family or of Monarchy, but that's irrelevant here.

Because Wood wasn't being in any way 'political', I am glad to say.

No she was showing us just what many people in Britain, actually remarkably still believe about them.
