- Albert Manning: [as he drops Craig off at school] Listen, listen. Hold on a second, Craiger. Got something for you.
- [gives Craig a bunch of money]
- Albert Manning: Maybe you can get yourself a new camera. One of those digital ones.
- Craig: Wow! Thanks.
- Albert Manning: If you need anything else, just ask.
- Craig: Sure, sure. Thank you.
- Albert Manning: You're welcome. No hard feelings?
- Craig: No hard feelings.
- Albert Manning: All right, then.
- Sean Cameron: [as Craig and Sean are playing basketball] Man, you should really try out for the school team this year.
- Craig: I'm not really a team sport kinda guy.
- Sean Cameron: Didn't think I was either, but it's cool.
- Angela Jeremiah: [after seeing the bruise on Craig] What is that?
- Craig: Well, um, remember that dinosaur? It also likes boys named Craig. That's where it bit me.
- Angela Jeremiah: Does it hurt?
- Craig: Yeah. You know what would be great? To go someplace where dinosaurs can never ever get to us.
- Angela Jeremiah: Like where?
- Craig: Come on. Come on.
- [he and Angie stand up; Craig takes her hand]
- Craig: Come on, let's go.
- Angela Jeremiah: Daddy!
- Joey Jeremiah: I was worried. I thought you guys were going to the park.
- Craig: We did, but... uh, Ang got hungry.
- Joey Jeremiah: I'll take it from here, okay?
- [to Angie]
- Joey Jeremiah: Let's go home, honey.
- Angela Jeremiah: Craig, can Daddy come too?
- Joey Jeremiah: Come where?
- Angela Jeremiah: On the bus. Craig's got a million dollars in his pocket.
- Craig: It was pretend. We were just playing.
- Angela Jeremiah: No! Show him the money!
- Craig: No, no.
- Angela Jeremiah: We're moving to British Columbia!
- Joey Jeremiah: What do you think you're doing? You think you can just take her and go somewhere with her?
- Craig: No, I don't. It was pretend!
- Joey Jeremiah: Yeah, like that money in your pocket is pretend, right? Just stay away from Angie, okay? Like your dad said.
- Craig: Yeah, Joey, I can't do that.
- Joey Jeremiah: Look, I mean it!
- Craig: Fine.
- J.T. Yorke: [to Paige] Okay. Wanna hear a joke? You got to promise not to get upset or something.
- Paige Michalchuk: As if I'd get upset at a joke.
- J.T. Yorke: What is a cheerleader's favorite drink? Root beer. Get it? Root beer. Root.
- Paige Michalchuk: I can't believe you would make a cheerleading joke to last year's head cheerleader.
- Craig: [to Sean] Where are your parents? You live with your brother, right?
- Sean Cameron: Yeah. Yeah, they're far away, which is, you know, good.
- Craig: So you and your parents didn't get along? They hit you or something?
- Sean Cameron: No. No, they were too drunk to do much. Total welfare cases. How about your dad?
- Craig: He's a surgeon. He fixes people.
- Sean Cameron: Surgeon, huh? Is he rich?
- Craig: Yeah, crazy rich, but, his... his job's stressful, so, um... so we fight and I've been thinking. I may go solo. I've got the money. I'm thinking B.C.
- Sean Cameron: Are you serious?
- Craig: Yeah, deadly serious. I'm outta here. Tonight.
- Sean Cameron: You're gonna wind up on the streets. They suck.
- Craig: Then come with me. We'll watch out for each other.
- Sean Cameron: Craig, come on. Look, I can't leave. Look... uh, before you asked me if my parents hit me, right?
- Craig: Did I? So?
- Sean Cameron: I don't know. Does your dad hit you?
- [Craig and Sean see a train coming; Sean gets off the tracks, but Craig stays where he is]
- Sean Cameron: Come on, Craig. Get off the tracks. Stop kidding around, man. Get off the tracks.
- Craig: Get off me.
- [pushes Sean away and starts laughing]
- Sean Cameron: Craig! Craig, get off the damn tracks, man. Quit playing around! Get off the tracks! Craig! Craig, quit playing around, man. Get off the tracks. Craig!
- [the train comes right towards Sean and Craig; the skateboard goes flying as Sean pushes Craig off the tracks]
- Craig: Woo!
- [starts running away]
- Sean Cameron: Man, what's wrong with you?
- Sean Cameron: [as he arrives at Emma's house] Emma!
- Emma: What are you doing here?
- Sean Cameron: It's about Craig.
- Emma: What? Is everything okay?
- Sean Cameron: I don't think so.
- Emma: Joey! Joey! We need to talk to you. It's about Craig. He said he's going to B.C., but you know he's just gonna end up on the streets.
- Sean Cameron: If he doesn't kill himself first.
- Joey Jeremiah: What?
- Sean Cameron: Last time I saw Craig, he was playing chicken with a train, for real.
- Joey Jeremiah: Guys, what do you want me to do? I can call his father again...
- Emma: Joey, his dad is the problem.
- Sean Cameron: He beats him.
- Joey Jeremiah: Now, wait a minute. Do you know what a serious accusation that is? I can't go around accusing the guy of that, all right?
- Angela Jeremiah: Is something wrong with Craig?
- Joey Jeremiah: Not now, honey, okay? This is serious.
- Angela Jeremiah: No. I saw today.
- Joey Jeremiah: Yeah, I know you saw him today, okay?
- Angela Jeremiah: No, I saw, all purple. A dinosaur hurts him. He told me.
- Joey Jeremiah: [When Craig is found at the cemetery by his mother's gravestone] Craig? Craig?
- Craig: What do you want?
- Joey Jeremiah: Hey. Whoa, whoa. Just... I just wanna help, okay?
- Craig: I'm fine!
- Joey Jeremiah: Craig, look at you. What's this I hear about a train, huh?
- Craig: Sean told you that? Well, he's a liar. Liar!
- Joey Jeremiah: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Come on.
- Craig: Get out of here!
- Joey Jeremiah: Let's go, okay? Just calm down and get outta here, okay?
- Craig: Where am I gonna go, huh? Where am I gonna go? Back, what? Back home, so... so... Dad can...?
- Joey Jeremiah: What? Do what? What does he do to you? He hits you, doesn't he? Doesn't he?
- Craig: Yeah, he does.
- [starts crying; Joey hugs him]
- Craig: [as Craig returns home to collect his things] I'm just gonna get my stuff.
- Albert Manning: Craig, just leave it, leave it. Come back when we've cooled down. We'll talk this thing through.
- Craig: No. No more talking, okay?
- Albert Manning: Okay, but you're breaking my heart, you know that? Just like your mother. Just, Craig. I know I've been impatient, but it's... work's been really stressful. You can't leave, Craig. I love you.
- Craig: There are three options, Dad: I can go to Children's Aid right now, I can go and stay with Joey while... while we sort this stuff out, or I can come back here and let you beat me.
- Albert Manning: I don't beat you.
- Albert Manning: [arrives home] Hey, kiddo. You're home so early. Everything okay?
- Craig: Fine, yeah I'm fine. I just uh, I had a long day.
- Albert Manning: Well, don't worry about it. We've got Chinese food, a couple of videos, take it easy tonight, how does that sound?
- Craig: Sure. Why not?
- Albert Manning: Great! Listen, did you get the camera?
- Craig: Uh, no.
- Albert Manning: Why not?
- Craig: Well, the one I really was about a hundred dollars more.
- Albert Manning: That's no problem. We'll go together. Your father's an outstanding angler. How does tomorrow night sound, have dinner out?
- [phone rings]
- Albert Manning: Hello! Joey. What do you want?
- [Craig is shocked; Albert looks at him angrily while Craig runs upstairs]
- Albert Manning: Oh yeah, I'm still here.
- Craig: [locks his bedroom door to avoid his father's abuse. Calls Sean while packing his stuff] Sean? Hey! Hey, man. Um, I was wondering if you uh, were, doing anything tonight.
- Albert Manning: [already off the phone; knocks on Craig's door with the club] Craig.
- Craig: Wh--what's that?
- Albert Manning: Open this door now.
- Craig: Yeah?
- Albert Manning: Craig!
- [starts breaking into his door]
- Craig: [startled] Ok, I'll be right over.
- [hangs up the phone; escapes through the window]
