There are improvements...

Warning: Spoilers
Season 6 is a sure bet compared to last season. And season 4, even. It's the last, and from the first episode, you have that all new and improved feeling about the show. It's like a new season 3. Unaltered guilty pleasure, with a pinch of heavy handed drama. But it's far more entertaining than what they had to offer previously. The Dawson and Joey love story reached a dead end. When ironically, it's Joey the immature one who hasn't worked on herself, and keeps finding things to blame on Dawson. They just got back together, what was she expecting? And the rest of the group are being very critical and maybe some viewers/writers inner voice, about this whole situation. First half is my favorite, but the second helps setting the record straight. This season is my favorite since the third, and has a lot of cool episodes like Living Dead Girl, Spiderwebs, All The Right Moves, Castaways and Lovelines, to name a few. And offered the series a well deserved send off, with nods, throwbacks and returning casts. Some of the key songs are still missing, but at least, the No Doubt concert was kept intact...

Warning: Spoilers
The fans liked Joey with Pacey so that means that Joey and Dawson can't even reunite for an entire episode. The reasons are irrelevant because the gods that are the series writers have intervened in their lives with an absolutely ridiculous scenario.

Oh the heart strings that were plucked at the close of the last episode brought those rooting for J & D to an emotional high quite expertly. The romantic mood continues though being interrupted by the stories by others in the cast while we introduce several new and unappealing characters. Then splat. Like a bug crushed under a vicious stomping shoe. So goes this romance forever. If you can't give them at least two episodes together, you never will allow them to be. Dawson quickly shows his true colors which we have seen time and time again. It is like he is saying that if she won't love him according to his rules, then it is she that is immature. Unfortunately his accusation has just that tiny bit of truth in it to be truly devastating even though as a whole his accusations are nothing but bitterness.

Jack is still in his selfish phase as he resorts to underhanded tactics to get the apartment. Audrey seems to be the only one with any sense to see trouble ahead.

I'm definitely not looking forward to getting to know Eddie or CJ. It looks like Jen is about to enter another period of victimhood, but maybe I'm wrong. The only thing the writers seem to hate more than Joey with Dawson is Jen in general.

We've seen hints of Todd. It's certain he will be a tyrant, but there are signs he may be a fun one. Emma may have possibilities but why do I expect her to lead to another case of Pacey's destruction.

Season 6 promises a lot of changes. Maybe they will be fresh, but I'm not optimistic. I don't see any of these newbies turning into an Andie, Gretchen or even Audrey.
