It doesn't have the annoying angst of Pacey and Joey anymore, and is fun in the way early seasons were. The premiere was strong, and make the college setting exciting and new. And episodes like « The Long Goodbye » that handles loss in a touching and simple way, still make you feel again. With drama only the show can deliver, and very good acting all over. I still think the way Mitch died is weird and random, but writers probably had their reasons... However, the show became more superficial this season, and has plots you'd expect to see in a sitcom. Very few interesting new characters are introduced. And I don't really like Pacey's storylines. They maybe thought the show needed a « Central Perk », but I'm not sold on the restaurant he works, and people he works in with. This episode has Brenda Strong guest starring, and even though I hate how Joey is rude to her character at one point. I like this part. The way Jen and that other girl, handled Charlie, was great too. And how Dawson and Joey address their awkwardness towards each other, was sweet. Plus, no songs were replaced or cut there.
