Ape-alling!
I was really going to mark this down - until the final scene.
There is some humour here plus returning characters (even if some of them are different actresses).
There are fewer names here but well known faces but the script is lacking and Dalziel is like a tiger with his bone in his mouth regarding an old case.
I can understand the political correctness of ethnic minorities taking a bigger part in the show (unlike the furore over rural Midsomer going PC made you can understand that there are more ethnic people to be found in inner city Yorkshire (ok, it's mainly filmed in the Midlands!).
I know the show wasn't meant to be bingewatched in a month as I have done but this dumbing down soap opera style does nothing for me but the old format had had its day. Perhaps the whole show should have ended by now.its like those 80s groups that go around with just a couple of original members left.
Hoping the new format will find its feet.
