Pamela Barnes Ewing : [carrying suitcase] Bobby, what are you doing here?
Bobby Ewing : It's time to come home, Pam.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [shakes her head] Didn't you see the paper?
Bobby Ewing : Yes, I saw it. So what?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : I'm leaving Dallas.
[about to walk past him]
Bobby Ewing : [grabs her by the arm] First Southfork, then me, now Dallas, Pam?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [shakes her head tearfully] I can't live with the scandal.
Bobby Ewing : Come on, Pam, it was a set-up, and everybody knows it.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : How can I go back to Southfork with this hanging over my head?
Bobby Ewing : It's the only thing you can do. Are you still looking for excuses to stay away from me?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : I don't wanna stay away from you, I never did.
Bobby Ewing : Then give some credit to the people that love you. To Mama and Daddy and me. Now, we know you wouldn't be involved in something like that.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Well, how do I face them? What do I say to everybody at The Store?
Bobby Ewing : You take it one step at a time, Pam.
[his hand on her shoulder]
Bobby Ewing : And the first step is to come back to the people that love ya. For a while, nothing else matters.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : I truly wish I could believe that.
[goes back on her way]
Bobby Ewing : Do you know I love you?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [stops] I know you love me, Bobby.
Bobby Ewing : But you don't know why that picture was taken, do you?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [faces Bobby] To embarrass Maxwell.
Bobby Ewing : Honey, if it were only to embarrass Maxwell... why were you involved in it at all?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [realizes] J.R.? J.R. did that to both of us?
Bobby Ewing : I don't know who else, except I couldn't prove anything.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [dismayed] Well, that finishes it.
[bursts into tears]
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Don't you understand? It's over!
[on her way again]
Bobby Ewing : [grabs her by her shoulders, spins her around] It's only over if you want it to be! It's only over if you stop fighting! Pamela, J.R. has been trying to do this to you ever since I brought you to Southfork. And if you leave now... if you run... then he wins, finally and completely. I married a fighter. Are you ready to let J.R. win? Or do we stand together and fight him? Together, we can win. And I want you with me.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : I love you, Bobby.
Bobby Ewing : Then let's go home.
[takes her in his arms, loving embrace, they kiss passionately]

Leanne Rees : [at Racquet Club] He's not here, is he?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Mm, I guess not.
Leanne Rees : You really miss him, don't you, Pam?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Well, of course I do. You know, I think I spend half my day waiting for him to call me. I'll never get used to the idea of living alone.
Leanne Rees : Look, I've got an idea. I've got a spare bedroom. Why don't you move in with me? I could use the company, not to mention splitting the expenses.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : I couldn't do that. I mean, that would make the separation seem so permanent.
Leanne Rees : Isn't it?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : No! Leanne, I love Bobby. It's just, I don't think we can make it together on that ranch anymore. That serpent of a brother, J.R. He almost sent my brother to jail. He destroyed him.
Leanne Rees : Pam, we seem to have gotten along pretty well these past few weeks. Maybe you should move in until you decide what you wanna do.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : [considers] Well, it couldn't hurt to take a look. I'll come by tonight.
Leanne Rees : Terrific.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Okay.
[smiles]

Bobby Ewing : [answering phone] Hello.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Bobby?
Bobby Ewing : Hi.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : I just wanted to tell you that I'm moving out of the hotel. I'm going to move in with a girlfriend.
[no response]
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Bobby? Did you hear me?
Bobby Ewing : Yeah. Yeah, I'm here.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Well, I just wanted to tell you.
Bobby Ewing : Well, that sounds permanent, doesn't it?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : You know I don't like living alone.
Bobby Ewing : You had another choice, Pam.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Thank you, sweetheart.
[shakes her head]
Pamela Barnes Ewing : But J.R. is still there, and I'm not ready for that.
Bobby Ewing : Well, I'm not too pleased with the arrangement myself.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Bobby...
Bobby Ewing : Who are you moving in with?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : I don't think you know her. Leanne Rees.
Bobby Ewing : When?
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Probably the day after tomorrow.
Bobby Ewing : Good luck. Goodbye.
Pamela Barnes Ewing : Bobby? Bobby?
[he cradles the receiver]
