- In Beachwood, New Jersey, recently divorced Jack Fisher, high on LSD, beat his son Eric almost to death. Although the authorities may suspect that Mr. Fisher beat his son to get back at his ex-wife, they believe that there is a higher power at work. This case is only the latest of a string of LSD related incidents in Beachwood in a 24 hour period. Each person affected has ingested ten to twenty times the normal dose. Further analysis shows that each affected person also had a depressant in their system. The BAU immediately know that these people were unknowingly poisoned. Mass poisoners fall into one of four categories: the true believer, the extortionist, the prankster, or the avenger. As they understand why the poisoner used a mixture of LSD and a depressant, the BAU believe they have the type of poisoner with whom they are dealing. They have to learn the victims' connections to each other and the delivery system of the poison to find the unsub. They have to move quickly as they also know these initial victims were just a testing ground for a far more lethal attack.—Huggo
