At the beginning of the episode, the battle with real footage shows some footage of British pre-war tanks, French 1940 tanks (not captured tanks used by the Germans), and American M24, M26, and M4A3E8 tanks, not used until the final months of the war, not in Normandy.
As Sgt. Dane explores the nave of the presumably long deserted church, a number of votive candles can be seen burning to the right of the altar.
While the squad occupies the town, there are periodic shots of the French villagers held hostage. Whether its day or night, the townspeople are always awake, standing facing the Germans, and in the same relative positions - never sitting or sleeping. These scenes were apparently all shot at once and then edited into the rest of the episode.
When Sergeant Dane throws the wine bottle at the mirror, the cameraman and camera are visible in the broken mirror glass on the right.
At the beginning of the episode, immediately after the real footage of tanks in action in what the narration says is Normandy, the platoon is shown walking down a road flanked by what are clearly eucalyptus trees. Eucalyptus trees are sensitive to frost, however, and while they thrive in Italy (and southern California, where this was filmed), they would not survive the winters in northern France.
