I live a short distance from where this episode of "Cannon" was supposedly set. A few scenes DID look like home...with palm trees and palmettos. But mostly it just looked like the Los Angeles area...with mountains and brown grass. Here in Tampa, the highest natural elevation is about 11 inches...and it's very green here....nothing like this episode! The show also has many folks talking with stereotypical southern Georgia-style accents...something you NEVER find around Tampa!! I don't entirely blame the show, as many TV shows make similar mistakes...such as when I watched an episode of "The FBI" and they, too, had mountains...in Chicago!! Despite this, it's an enjoyable episode.
This is a highly unusual episode. There really isn't much story and you have no idea what's happening for most of the show....and Cannon is in the same position. It's mostly an action show, as in the first 3/4 of the show you see a guy (Tom Skerritt) being chased by baddies but you have no idea why and have no idea if the guy is even a good guy or just another bad guy. As for Cannon, this man hired him to meet him in Tampa to discuss his case...but Cannon cannot find him because the man is constantly being chased by assassins. So what's it all about and why is it worth seeing? See it and find out. I particularly like the role played by the man's wife (Patty McCormick)...she is a memorable woman!!
