When Gil is looking up at the meteor shower "The Orionids", the meteors are passing all the way through the constellation "Orion", from "head" to "foot". In fact, the meteors originate from "Orion" and move out of the constellation, from approximately the center of the constellation.
After Gil and Catherine find the silver BMW in the shack, they open the trunk and find a body with a chunk missing from the back of its head. Gil says he doubts it is a suicide and reaches into the trunk and removes a crowbar. As he holds it up, he calls it a tire iron. The octagonal shape of the bar, the leverage curve and the v-notch on the working end are clearly visible. A tire iron has the flat opposite of the curved end, the flat doesn't have a notch, and the curve is a dog-leg instead of a U. This mistake is also repeated during the autopsy when Gil states "We found a tire iron at the scene..."
In a scene where Grissom examines the contents of a car's trunk, he holds up a tool used as a murder weapon and declares it to be a "tire iron". The tool is very apparently a crow-bar.
When Catherine is on the phone to Nick, Grissom asks Catherine to ask Nick if the victims died about the same time. Catherine then asks if COD was similar for each victim. "COD" means Cause Of Death. The correct term to use would be "TOD" - Time Of Death.
